What is V-Day SDSU?
V-Day SDSU is part of the larger international organization called V-Day, a global activist movement. This movement aims to "end violence against all women (cisgender, transgender, and those who hold fluid identities that are subject to gender-based violence), girls and the planet." At SDSU, we are a recognized student organization.

Our Mission
Our mission is to embody and help accomplish the goals of V-Day on our campus and in our communities. We strive to empower and be empowered by each other constantly.

Art has the power to transform consciousness and inspire people to act.

Lasting social and cultural change is spread by ordinary people doing extraordinary things.

Local women best know what their communities need and can become unstoppable leaders.

One must look at the intersection of race, class, and gender to understand violence against women.
V-Day SDSU has been on campus for over a decade. The club, recognized by the university, has put on events such as club meetings, open mic nights, and other theatre performances.
​
The primary theatre performance of the year used to be The Vagina Monologues, a highly recognized episodic play by Eve Ensler, originally premiering in New York during 1996. In recent years, this changed. Now, V-Day SDSU performs a student-written and performed play!
What is our goal?
Each year, V-Day SDSU fundraises and donates money to our chosen beneficiary. This year, we have decided to present all the fundraised money to a social change organization, Shakti Rising.

Our primary fundraiser is a theatre performance, Raise the Vibration.
Support Us
You can support us in many ways.
​
Monetary donations will go directly to our club. The club uses 10% or less of the amount we fundraise to sustain our efforts, such as expenses necessary for our show, Raise the Vibration. We donate 90% or more to our philanthropic efforts. To donate, please email us for further instructions.
